The REALIA Project
publishes faculty-reviewed media for the teaching and study of modern languages
and cultures. Faculty and students at all levels are encouraged to contribute
materials to our searchable, online database. The focus of the REALIA Project
is realia: Materials which convey the everyday life of different cultures.

REALIA News
April 2008:
The REALIA project has moved to new servers at Oberlin College Library.
April 2007:
Two new REALIA Chief Editors have joined the project. We welcome
Ingrid Chafee (Morehouse College), Chief Editor for French collections,
and Wenxian Zhang (Rollins College), Chief Editor for Chinese collections, to their new roles in the project.
January 2007:
The REALIA Project announces an Internship program for students. Students and
faculty can consult the program details for more information.
October 2006:
Alexander Douglas from the College of William and Mary contributed a series of images of modern-day locations and references to Cervantes' Don Quixote.
March 2006:
REALIA was featured at a NITLE conference entitled
Collaborative and Technology-Assisted Approaches to Teaching Arabic.
Rachid Aadnani of Wellesley College,
the chief editor for REALIA's Arabic collection, talked about the uses of
digital images in teaching and the work of the REALIA project to assemble digital
resources to address this need.
